Tennoji’s new landmark,
Hoop is one of the hottest places among the young people.
Right in front of Hoop, there is another busy spot. You notice a line
of crowds waiting for something… That is the famous Yama-chan, the
Tako Yaki place. The shop, however, is not only for the young, but
also for everyone from the office workers, business men, families,
madams and all.
You can not reject the crisp, sizzling aroma coming out of the fan.
Since one cannot help but join another, as a result, that forms a
long line you see. While your mouth watering, be patient and wait
until your turn comes.
The owner-chef recommends the plain Tako-yaki, called “Best”. Since
it is without source or toppings, unless the owner-chef is truly confident
with its taste, he would never recommend this style. The outside shell
of the ball is crisp, but the inside is melting hot. The ingredient
of the ball is simple: only pieces of chopped octopus and ginger pickles.
Yes, that is what we should really call Tako-Yaki!
